Lead a dynamic, rapid prototype engineering team as the Program Director, responsible for $50M in annual RevCOGS and Research and Development (RDE) programs. Drive innovation in advanced power and thermal management systems for High-Energy Lasers, supporting Directed Energy Systems for US Department of Defense against UAS threats.
As the Program Director, you will bring over 10 years of experience in program/project management and engineering leadership. You'll leverage your expertise to manage a direct team of program managers and collaborate across functions, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Support, and Finance, to garner cross-organizational support and address program challenges. Your accountability extends to revenue growth, margin expansion, cost control, and on-time delivery. Achieving program excellence is your goal through the Honeywell IPDS program governance framework and tailoring, as needed, to achieve execution agility and cost-efficiency required for the overall business case achievement on your entire portfolio.
As the senior leader, you will be responsible for technical, financial, and schedule performance of your entire portfolio. Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Career Development: Lead and foster the career development of direct or matrixed Program Managers.
Honeywell Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison between the Rocky Research team (acquired by Honeywell in 2020), customers, suppliers, and the broader Honeywell organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively across Engineering, Procurement, and Finance disciplines to drive flawless program execution and forecasting.
Communication and Performance: Effectively communicate complex program management and financial issues to all levels, connecting program performance with financial results and product line strategies.
NPI Portfolio Leadership: Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) Portfolio for R&D Investment and Revenue, ensuring alignment with targets.
Financial Oversight: Strong financial background driving overall portfolio financial performance aligned with Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and STRAP targets.
Milestone Management: Set and implement policies for milestone management, leading portfolio adherence to critical milestones.
EAC (Estimate At Complete) Management: Set and implement policies for EAC management, leading portfolio adherence to approved EAC and exercise robust baseline change management.
Risk Management: Proactively anticipate program risks and address them before they become critical issues through risk registers and risk mitigation strategies
Program Management Review: Lead the Program Management Review of Record operating system.
Change Agent: Drive critical program management policies as a change agent and implement continuous improvement methodologies to support a learning organization mindset.
Strategic Influence: Work closely with Offering Directors as part of the leadership team to influence targets for AOP and STRAP based on program performance and pursuit pipeline.
Customer Business Team Focal: Work closely with CBM's & CBT's aligning roles and responsibilities for customer relationships/account management allowing program managers and project engineers to focus on execution.
Support and Assumptions: Provide support to the business, CBTs, and sellers with site-related assumptions and costs.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
YOU MUST HAVE
10+ years of experience in Engineering, Finance, or Program Management.
Strong financial acumen with ability to assess/identify key drivers and offer cost control strategies.
Must be located near Boulder City, NV OR Huntsville, AL area and willing to travel up to 25% of the time
