Accountable for managing IT capital projects with scope, cost and schedule certainty in alignment with the defined stage gate process. This role provides direction to project team members and resolves or escalates issues that affect these projects. Provides management insight into the assigned projects and how the status of those projects affects business and operational goals. Project portfolio includes IT application software, custom development, infrastructure, and telecommunications projects.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate and document project related activities of smaller scale projects
Lead project team to establish leading indicators and proactive requirements to deliver customer value and business outcomes; execute projects is accordance with applicable corporate standards, guidelines, policies and processes; adhere to all reporting and submission deadlines, including monthly financial cost analysis
Define the project organization structure required for the project and identify the technical resources required to achieve project goals; work with appropriate Client management and/or vendor partner for assignment of resources to the project team; prepare and manage vendor contracts and change orders, approve vendor invoices
Manage assigned projects to meet scope, budget, and schedule commitments and maintain communication channels to provide IT and customer stakeholders with insight into the programs and its status; resolve and/or escalate risks and issues as necessary
Provide clear, timely and accurate project status reports; prepare reports and presentations to stakeholders as necessary
Provide leadership, oversight and coordination to various internal and external resources providing services for the projects assigned
Develop business cases and initiate projects to align with departmental strategy
Participate in the acquisition of related software, products and service
Manage the integration of vendor tasks; track and review vendor deliverables (as applicable)
Responsible to ensure that overall project technical design aligns with IT architecture and security standards
Education, and/or Certification
Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or Computer Science or related work experience. Master's degree is a plus.
IT Project Manager: 5+ years' experience managing projects and/or programs
Experience delivering projects in a highly outsourced environment
Knowledge/Skills/Capabilities:
Experience managing Information Technology projects
Technical understanding of IT and/or systems operations
Experience in creating and managing project schedules in Microsoft Project
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position:
PMP or other project management certification desired
Agile certification desired
Pay Range: $62 - $67 Hourly
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
