The Senior Platform Engineer PMO Processes and Tools is responsible for solutioning, development, configuration, integrations, implementing, and supporting multiple, complex custom and 3rd party solutions. The Senior Platform Engineer may interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. This resource also conceives, designs, develops, tests, and implements software components, fixes, enhancements, and/or new systems and applications. The Senior Platform Engineer works in a fast-paced, agile, highly collaborative environment and reports to Delivery Manager, PMO Tools Team.
Develop reporting solutions to help the business make better decisions, extraction of key data, and creation and management of operational dashboards to continue reviewing the applicable data sets.
Design, develop, test and implement new integrations with agile, portfolio, service management, and data visualization platforms (Jira, ServiceNow, Clarity PPM, PowerBI, etc.)
Executes development of tools, automation, and scripts to facilitate new development, enhancements, platform maintenance, operational efficiency, reliability, and administration.
Provides technical support for multiple levels of testing prior to release of new and enhancements.
Participates in planning and executing of projects for business unit initiatives and updating existing infrastructure, products and/or services.
Identify root causes of system and resolve independently
Engage to define or identify environment requirements/sizing, system architecture including Integration points, configuration, monitoring needs, security compliance, system availability, recovery, and implementation strategies
Proactively work to identify and resolve technical blockers
Serve as technical liaison with vendors and manage vendor related activities such as incidents/bug fixes, release schedules, escalations, issue tracking, system access
Proactively ensure compliance with Security standards
Create and maintain required system documentation
Basic Qualifications • 5 to 8 years experience supporting and maintaining enterprise applications, solutions and systems • 3 to 5 years of progressively related experience in Platform Engineering and/or software development • Deep understanding of Smartsheet core and advanced applications with an ability to put real solutions in place that maximize the end user experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex findings in a structured and clear manner to a non-technical audience • Experience administration, configuring/building solutions in Smartsheet, Data Shuttle, DataMesh and Functions and Formulas, Platform Administrator, etc. • Experience in Smartsheet functional areas like control center, workspaces, power apps, sheets, reports, dashboards, etc. • Experience in data visualizations and data management • Familiarity with creating solutions that integrate Smartsheet solutions with other services such as JIRA, Clarity, Service Now, PowerBI, etc. • Proven experience working as a software developer on an agile delivery team • Experience with the migration of Smartsheet products • Experience in evaluating and configuring add-ons or plugins • Experience testing and performing upgrades, configuration changes, and applying bug fixes • Ability to automate and extend base Smartsheet functionality, including scripting • Experience with customizing workflows, setting up dashboards, and generating reports • Experience working with vendor support and troubleshooting Smartsheet Tools • Excellent Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Knowledge of the product management and software development lifecycles • Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstration of critical thinking • Experience in large-scale data management and analytics • Experience with project management methodologies (agile, scrum, waterfall)
