5+ years of experience with Nortel MSL 100 (for tier 2 and 3, analog/digital (single/multi line phones)), ISDN, POTS, and VoIP.

Job Description:
An employer is seeking a Secret Cleared Legacy Phone Technician to work onsite at Joint Base Andrews, MD.
Essential Job Functions
Tier 2 and 3 maintenance and operational support for telephony systems.
Survey, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and audit physical connections utilized for telephony systems. contractor shall ensure all tickets are completed in accordance with the defined customer priority level.
Maintain or create documentation of existing Copper circuits including Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS), alarm, fax, elevator, or other systems.
The Copper Voice Technician will work in-house with the Government Voice Engineer to maintain the copper infrastructure.
Maintain ISDN/POTS telephony architecture and supporting diagrams.
Perform tasks assigned from engineer.
Trace, label, and maintain existing copper lines; coordinate with commercial service provider as needed.
Perform STIGs, MTOs, and other audits to ensure the Squadron complies with USAF Standards and 794th Business Practices.
Perform PMIs on CDNs (including reporting observed issues) using Local work cards in accordance with TO 00-5-1 Air Force Technical Order System providing results/findings via e-mail no later than the 5th day of each month.
Create and update maintenance cutsheets to include phone numbers, copper cable, and copper pair information and the physical location on base.
Terminate cable on main distribution frame as needed.
Report and log deteriorating conditions of copper cabling as they are discovered.
Inform the government of the saturation of infrastructure once it reaches 70%.
Maintain ISDN/POTS diagrams.
Create and update maintenance cutsheets.
Report/log deteriorating conditions to the JBAB CFP and/or GSO as needed.
Develop plans to improve base infrastructure and prevent shortfalls.
Submit a Weekly Activity Report (WAR) and monthly report of work completed to the GSO.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot telephony devices.
Ensure all tickets are completed within three (3) business days of assignment.
Ensure that all telephony interfaces with emergency service location information systems such as Configuration Accounting Information Retrieval System (CAIRS) are up to date with the correct detail for device location information.
Assist in identifying legacy devices and services and shall provide solutions or strategies in order to migrate analog and legacy digital services to IP based solutions in accordance with (IAW) SAF/CN directives.
