Job Description: Senior SAP S/4 Cutover Manager
Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior SAP S/4 Cutover Manager to lead and manage the cutover activities for SAP S/4HANA implementations, migrations, or upgrades. This critical role requires strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, meticulous planning, and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional cutover processes to ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large-scale SAP implementations and the ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders across technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Cutover Strategy and Planning:
Develop and own the end-to-end cutover strategy, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Define cutover activities, including system migration, data loads, validation, and go-live readiness.
Collaborate with functional, technical, and business teams to define and document detailed cutover plans.
Execution and Coordination:
Lead and coordinate all cutover activities across multiple workstreams, including SAP, legacy systems, and third-party applications.
Ensure the seamless execution of mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, and go-live cutovers, resolving issues promptly.
Manage the cutover command center during go-live, overseeing progress, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
Risk and Issue Management:
Identify potential risks and dependencies related to cutover activities, developing mitigation plans to minimize impact.
Monitor progress during cutover execution, proactively addressing issues to avoid disruptions.
Maintain a comprehensive risk log, escalating critical issues to project leadership as needed.
Stakeholder and Communication Management:
Act as the central point of contact for all cutover-related activities, ensuring clear communication across all teams.
Provide regular updates to project sponsors, leadership, and stakeholders on cutover readiness and progress.
Conduct post-cutover reviews, capturing lessons learned and documenting best practices for future use.
Cutover Process Optimization:
Continuously improve cutover methodologies and processes, leveraging insights from previous projects.
Define and implement tools, templates, and standards for effective cutover planning and execution.
Ensure adherence to organizational policies, industry standards, and SAP best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
SAP Expertise:
Extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA implementations, with a focus on cutover planning and execution.
Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA modules, integration points, and data migration processes.
Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and other relevant SAP frameworks.
Cutover Management Experience:
Proven track record of managing cutover activities for large-scale, complex SAP projects, including global rollouts.
Expertise in developing detailed cutover plans and managing activities across multiple workstreams.
Hands-on experience with tools and technologies for data migration, system integration, and validation.
Project Management Skills:
Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills to manage concurrent activities and dependencies.
Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or SAP Solution Manager.
Ability to manage high-pressure situations and make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with technical and business stakeholders effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment and lead cross-functional teams.
Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and delivering results.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
8+ years of experience in SAP implementations, with at least 3 years focused on cutover management.
Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or SAP-specific credentials (e.g., SAP Activate Project Manager) are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud-based SAP S/4HANA deployments or hybrid environments.
Familiarity with non-SAP system integrations and their impact on cutover processes.
Knowledge of data validation, reconciliation, and reporting tools.
