Job Description: Senior SAP S/4 Program/Project Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP S/4 Program/Project Manager to lead and oversee complex SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation projects. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA modules, strong program management skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a global environment. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering SAP projects on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Program/Project Leadership:
  • Lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, or upgrade projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, milestones, resource allocation, timelines, and risk management strategies.
  • Oversee the execution of project deliverables, monitoring progress and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with executive sponsors, business leaders, and technical teams to align project objectives with business priorities.
  • Facilitate clear communication between stakeholders, ensuring expectations are managed effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and deliver regular status updates, reports, and presentations to leadership and steering committees.
  1. Resource and Team Management:
  • Assemble and lead cross-functional teams, including internal staff, SAP consultants, and third-party vendors.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to project team members, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage resource allocation, resolving conflicts, and ensuring optimal utilization of skills and expertise.
  1. Risk and Issue Management:
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Address and resolve project challenges and issues promptly to avoid disruptions to timelines or deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and SAP best practices.
  1. Budget and Financial Oversight:
  • Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring financial accountability.
  • Prepare cost estimates, monitor expenditures, and report on budget variances.
  1. SAP Expertise and Best Practices:
  • Leverage extensive knowledge of SAP S/4HANA modules, integration points, and business processes to provide strategic insights.
  • Ensure projects adhere to SAP Activate methodology or other relevant frameworks.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend process improvements to enhance project efficiency and outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Technical Expertise:
  • Extensive experience with SAP S/4HANA, including implementation, migration, and integration projects.
  • In-depth understanding of key SAP modules such as Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), Supply Chain, Procurement, and Manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and other project management frameworks for SAP projects.
  1. Project Management Experience:
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale SAP S/4HANA programs, including global rollouts.
  • Expertise in agile, waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or SAP Solution Manager.
  1. Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities with the ability to drive results in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  1. Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years focused on SAP programs.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or SAP-specific credentials (e.g., SAP Activate Project Manager) are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud-based SAP S/4HANA deployments or hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with integration tools such as SAP PI/PO or middleware platforms.
  • Knowledge of data migration strategies, change management, and training initiatives in SAP projects.
