The IT Technician is responsible for maintaining the business continuity operations in terms of IT hardware and software in the automotive manufacturing facility. Assures that all plant hardware and software meet plant requirements to provide reliable uninterrupted service. Previous experience in an automotive/manufacturing facility is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Keeps continuous network integrity for the production system at the Avanzar plant including backup and security of the network.
Maintains office/plant computer systems - hardware and software.
Upgrade and repair all plant computer systems (software and hardware).
Installing and uninstalling of computer software.
Analyzes production processes to determine where improvements may be made which will contribute to quality and plant profitability.
Update and maintain IT work instructions.
Communicate effectively and work well with fellow Team Members.
Responsible for providing recognition and positive reinforcement for all Team Members, in a manner to further develop each member of the team.
Maintain Company Website and internal communication to employees.
Assist in Launch activities when needed.
Problem solving skills, effective communication and reporting, sense of urgency.
Environmental, Health & Safety:
The IT Technician will support the protection of the environment, personal safety, prevention of pollution and the continual improvement of the Environmental Management System.
Providing leadership to I.T. in preventing accident and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA/TCEQ standards. This includes: continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous environmental, health, and safety conditions.
Ensure environmental, health and safety hazards are corrected, eliminated or guarded as related to I.T.
Within scope of responsibilities assessing engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an on-going basis
Assisting in the investigation of accidents.
Having the authority to: Stop and prevent unsafe actions; stop the use of unsafe equipment and tools, stop work and/or have employees leave a work area
Ability to participate in investigation of near misses and other environmental/safety-related incidents that have occurred
Ensure that all department related incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner
Education and Experience:
Bachelor Level Degree in Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience. Post secondary degree would be considered an asset.
At least one years experience with SQL Queries, basic networking, vlans, DNS, DCHP, active directory.
