Under general supervision of the Lead Senior PeopleSoft Analyst represents and supports user requirements for the PeopleSoft (PS) HCM modules. Works to support the user community in the day-to-day operations of the human resources applications. Requires a functional understanding of the PS Core HR and other HCM modules, as well as analysis and troubleshooting skills. Requires participation in the implementation of any new modules and performing application upgrades. Also requires excellent verbal and written communication plus reporting skills to work effectively with business users, application programmers, project management and peers.
The Application Systems Specialist II (PeopleSoft HCM Analyst II) differs from the other IT Department Application Systems Specialist II because of the business system analysis emphasis on PeopleSoft HCM modules knowledge and skills. The candidate being sought for this recruitment must have PS Core HR module skills.
Production Support: Provides day-to-day functional support to end-users and supports PeopleSoft Core HR production problem resolution and enhancement requests including evaluation of the current "As-Is" functionality and guidance towards the future "To Be" processes of the software implementation. Also provides day-to-day functional support for end-users on core HR functionality, starting with Position Management, Job configuration, HR transactions, from hire to terminations, mass updates, profile management, ESS and MSS functionality etc.
Takes ownership of functional issues by identifying underlying problems, analyzing potential solutions and implementing system resolutions including workarounds.
Performs the functional analysis for production support activities.
Applies and enforces department change control policies & procedures.
Develops Functional Design Documents and works with senior system analysts and/or technical resources to develop system enhancements or resolutions to system issues.
Owns the testing processes including development of test plans, test cases, scenarios and results documentation.
Provides finished work on-time and with consistent quality.
Ensures resolution data is collected, compiled and archived in a complete and useable manner by other team members.
Works with senior system analysts and division supervisors to continuously improve operational policies, practices, procedures and methodologies.
Works with the HR Consultants and HRIS to support the HR processes as needed.
PeopleSoft Security: responsible for the analysis and maintenance of functional security objects and role definitions as relates to the PeopleSoft Financials and HCM Applications.
Assist senior system analysts with the design, develop, integrate, test, implement, and maintain PeopleSoft security structure.
Assist with the assessment of current security configuration and work with the senior system analysts and the department directors to manage roles and permissions assigned to end-users; assess department row-level security and reporting access and work with the department directors to make changes, as needed.
Maintain end-user security; evaluate and maintain new hires security on a weekly basis.
Audit routine security in all PeopleSoft environments to ensure all users are appropriately provisioned for their work function.
Analyze and resolve security and access problems related to delivered and customized PeopleSoft applications.
Develop strong relationships with end users and other IT teams to effectively troubleshoot and resolve security issues
Gideon Taylor Forms: Works with end-users to define requirements and assist with the development of forms, including working with the senior system analysts and development team to fully integrate the form with the HCM application.
Understanding eForms frameworks
Understanding of the approval workflow process in PeopleSoft and how it relates to the eForms solution
Assist with the form design process, testing and deployment of the form.
Collaborate with the HR team, as the process owners, and the technical resource to produce the best solution for the stakeholders
Develop training materials and provide training to end-users
Assist with the full-integration of the form, with the application, to streamline and simplify HR processes.
Ensures that the forms fit within a business process within PeopleSoft HCM and will automate the process.
Reporting: Works with end users to define, develop and/or assist with the development of reports and interfaces requiring PeopleSoft data.
Requires an understanding of PeopleSoft HCM data and how it can be used to solve business user needs.
Develops Queries as needed for the end users.
Assist senior system analysts or technical team members to create mock-ups and development of Kibana, nVision, BI Publisher and SQR reports.
Research: Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources.
Reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details and packages specific details into executive-level summaries.
Translates findings into reports, recommendations or alternatives that identify probable causes and possible solutions to business inquiries and/or technical issues.
PeopleSoft Enhancement Implementation and Upgrade Support: Contributes to the implementation and/or upgrade process so it will positively impact the organization and provide future services that will be best utilized for the benefit of the Community.
Work with senior system analysts to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of new PS modules, configuration, testing and implementation utilizing PS and industry benchmarks.
Work with senior system analysts to develop, test and document "regression tests" for patches, vendor break/fixes and major upgrade tasks.
Work with senior system analysts to develops and provides training to support the organization on use of existing and new modules or functionalities as implemented.
Requirements Definition: Utilizes established departmental methods to conduct requirement assessments and develop associated documentation as required for production, enhancement and upgrade support.
Understands the business process and business requirements of the customers and translates them to specific software requirements.
Ensures the solution recommended can be supported and easily maintained by Staff.
Documents and analyzes the required information and data.
Effectively communicates with internal teams and external clients to deliver functional requirements like GUIs, screens and interface designs.
Acts as an interface between business units, technology teams and support teams.
Develops requirements traceability to test cases.
Works with customers to develop requirements based on TO BE processes.
End-User Training: Assists and/or instructs end-users with training as required for production, enhancement and upgrade support.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Management of Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline is required.
Experience:
Three (3) years' experience in a computer related industry and experience in the following areas:

PS HCM Modules version 9.2 implementation and/or upgrade experience or end user support required.
PS implementations and upgrade experience with HR Core functionality, including ESS and MSS, required and at least five (3) year experience providing user support for Core HR functionality required.
Experience with creating test plans, conducting Unit and System testing and coordinating User Acceptance testing required.
Human Resources consulting and/or HR functional systems design and implementation background including PS Core HR required. Time and Labor, Approval Workflow Engine (AWE), Core HR, Benefits and Absence Management experience preferred.
Two (2) years of experience with current versions of MS SQL Server.
The following experience is not required, but highly preferred:
Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials modules, version 9.2, is highly preferred but not required.
