Job Description:

Overview

The Technical Services Manager ensures that the cement products meet customer specifications and quality standards, while optimizing cost-efficiency. This role collaborates with operations and logistics teams across US and Mexico Divisions, and provides technical support in cement quality, concrete mix designs, and construction practices to both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Technical Services Manager must promote the products through professional membership and industry events.
  • Coordinate quality discussions between plants and customers via regular meetings.
  • Analyze and present trends in competing cement products to the management.
  • The Technical Services Manager must act as a liaison between sales and production teams regarding quality issues.
  • Provide technical guidance to clients on concrete mix designs and product applications.
  • Stay informed on industry innovations and market changes.
  • The Technical Services Manager must maintain relationships with customers, including engineers, architects, and government agencies.
  • Maintain products on DOT pre-approved lists.
  • Propose improvements in processes, materials, and cost-efficiency.
  • Offer technical training to both employees and customers.

Qualification
  • The Technical Services Manager must hold a bachelor's degree in Concrete Technology, Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field. Master's degree or Professional Engineer certification.
  • Must have 10+ years of concrete quality control experience.
  • Must have 5+ years in Quality Assurance/Control, Technical Services, or as a Certified Concrete Expert in the building materials industry.
  • The Technical Services Manager must have expertise in cement, concrete, admixtures, and related industries.
  • Knowledge of low CO2 cement alternatives and strategies for clinker reduction.
  • Experience with blended cements, precast, and ready-mix operations.
  • The Technical Services Manager must have proficiency in statistical process control and making formal presentations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and technical skills.
