Bicara Therapeutics is seeking a Project Manager to provide project management expertise and strong operational leadership to the team. The role is highly cross-functional with key interactions with preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and finance.
In conjunction with the Program Team, the Project Manager will assist in developing project plans and budgets and will identify critical path activities and determine risks / mitigation plans. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and possess a firm understanding of the drug development process. They will be highly organized, detail oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, and have experience with leading teams. The role will be reporting to the SVP, R&D Strategy & Operations.
Responsibilities • Serve as an integral part of the project management team and drive the operations efficiently including generating integrated project plans, identifying key project milestones, developing budgets, and conducting risk assessments. • Maintain cross-functional oversight and transparency of projects to ensure team is efficiently moving forward. • Risk management including risk assessment and mitigation planning. • Drive the expectations to build realistic development schedules and program budgets to ensure project is not negatively impacted. • Provide support to senior leadership in defining project deliverables. • Support in maintaining ongoing communication with team members and all stakeholders including senior leadership. • Support companion diagnostic development program, as needed. • Support research and early development teams with generation of project plans. • Support alliance or collaboration activities as needed. • Focus the team on the right activities at the right time. • Foster a sense of inclusion and create a shared sense of purpose.
Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or a related field required, advanced degree (MS, PhD or MBA) desirable. • A minimum of 3+ years of industry experience with a minimum of 2+ years of program management in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry. Preference for experience in oncology drug development. Experience with CDx development a plus. • Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of an organization. • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills, including an ability to combine attention to detail with a big picture perspective. • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills, to effectively inform key updates and issues across all levels of the organization. • Ability to work independently and successfully in a fast-paced, results-driven, highly accountable environment with large potential impact; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, integrate cross-functional issues, and balance competing priorities effectively. • Willingness to travel up to 10-15% of the time.
