The Global Systems and Interface Architect will support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews. This position will mentor junior systems engineering team members to enhance skills in the department and work with the enterprise test architect to enable system sell-off of capabilities as required. The Global Systems and Interface Architect will work under the direction of the Global Architect Lead and will require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within the resources available. Responsibilities include adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts on an as-required basis. The candidate will be actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development, including iteration planning, mentoring team members on architectural patterns being used, and agile team leadership.
Must Haves:
An active DoD TS/SCI clearance with investigation or Continuous Vetting date within 5 years of starting in the role.
A Bachelor's degree and 14 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree with 12 years of experience.
Must possess an understanding of systems engineering processes and principles with a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions.
Must have prior experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g. specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.)
Excellent communications skills are required (written and oral) as is the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Prior domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense, Systems Analysis, Model Based System Engineering, Architecture development, Virtualization, Containerization, and Cloud Computing principles.
Demonstrated experience working large multi-site software development efforts including external interface development.
Demonstrated experience executing under Federal Acquisition Regulations including Operational Concept development, Requirements, System Decomposition, Standards Compliance, Design, Implementation and Selloff.
Demonstrated experience conducting or leading Analysis of Alternatives, Trade Studies and/or Design Evaluations.
Familiarity with cyber, platform and network architecture technologies, dependencies and design drivers.
Ability to travel in support of program reviews and customer meetings to CONUS sites including Huntsville, AL and Shriever SFB expected.
Desired Skills:
TS/SCI Preferred
Ability to write and implement engineering plans within a project within an Agile development environment.
Prior experience in developing large, complex software systems in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions.
Prior experience designing large command and control and/or weapon systems.
Prior experience processing radar sensor data.
Prior experience with near real time processing, persistence and distributed user community.
