Ovelle is revolutionizing fertility treatment through human in vitro oogenesis-producing eggs from somatic cells. Our approach uses directed differentiation of human iPSCs to ovarian cell types including granulosa cells and oogonia by manipulating expression of transcription factors and RNA-binding proteins. We are the first company to develop technology to induce meiosis in human iPSCs. By innovating egg production, we aim to make fertility treatments more accessible and affordable. If we are successful, it will mark a paradigm shift in treatments for infertility, and offer a new path to parenthood for millions of people around the world. Come help us build an exciting future all of us want to live in.
About the Specific Role:
We seek a mammalian Tissue Culture Specialist to lead the development of advanced culture techniques for in vitro oogenesis, focusing on granulosa-like cells. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating the optimal microenvironment for gamete development by leveraging tissue from mammalian models. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills in a field with immense potential to impact global health and happiness.
How You Will Contribute:
Establish and optimize culture conditions for long-term maintenance and growth of functional ovarian follicles
Implement techniques for isolating and culturing granulosa cells and follicles from mammalian ovarian tissue
Characterize the derived supporting cells using various molecular and functional assays
Conduct co-culture experiments with germ cells to assess the supportive capacity of the derived cells
Perform advanced biology techniques such as FACS, immunofluorescence, and RNA-seq to evaluate cell identity and function
Analyze hormone production and signaling pathways in cultured cells
Collaborate on developing 3D culture systems that mimic the ovarian follicular environment
Qualifications:
Experience with ovarian follicle culture is required; experience with in vitro maturation of oocytes and in vitro fertilization is highly desirable.
Hands-on experience with mammalian tissue culture, including experience with 3D culture systems
Proficiency in advanced molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, RNA-seq, hormone assays, and signaling pathway analyses
Experience with flow cytometry and cell sorting techniques
Experience with fluorescence microscopy techniques
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize complex multi-step protocols.
PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field; DVM; or proven innovative work in the field
