The Senior Estimator leads the estimating efforts for complex industrial construction projects, providing guidance and expertise to the estimating team. The position is responsible for leveraging their experience and industry knowledge to ensure accuracy and reliability of our cost estimates, contributing to the overall financial success of our projects. May be responsible for estimating support across a business line or program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead the estimating process for large capital projects (or several smaller sized projects) including cost analysis, resource allocation, and bid preparation.
Oversees and directs the work of discipline estimators working on their assigned project or projects.
Mentors and trains less experienced staff, providing guidance on best practices and industry standards.
Collaborates with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop comprehensive plans and budgets.
Reviews project specifications, blueprints, and other technical documentation to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Conducts thorough research to obtain competitive pricing for materials, labor, and subcontractor services.
Analyzes historical data and benchmarks to refine estimating methodologies and improve bid accuracy.
Participates in bid reviews and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
Monitors industry trends, regulations, and technology advancements to stay updated on best practices and emerging opportunities.
Provide accurate and timely reports on project costs, variances, and potential impacts on profitability.
Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies (including client's) while promoting the Company's safety culture.
Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Associates degree in a field related to construction; bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or related field strongly preferred.
7+ years of experience as an estimator working on industrial construction projects including large capital and/or EPC projects.
Proficiency in construction estimating software (Procore, Bluebeam, Sage, etc.) and advanced computer skills.
Certifications from a recognized professional organization such as AACE, ASPE, or equivalent strongly preferred.

Working Conditions
In person / office-based position that requires regular, predictable attendance to a Company facility
Will work in an office and occasionally at a job site setting (indoors/outdoors).
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment.
Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Frequently communicate with other members of the team. Must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear manner.
Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 25 pounds.
