Job Description Summary • The Corporate Function Program Management Office for Investments (CFPMO) is defining and executing how Investment Management should operate across project and program management to help execute the department goals and objectives. The Investment Project Manager will work report to the Investment Program Management Lead and will be responsible for the planning, day-to-day execution, management, implementation and reporting of medium to large projects. • The Project Manager will be accountable to manage and monitor project tasks and controls during project planning and delivery activities to ensure on-time and quality goals are met within scope and budget. Work independently and apply advanced project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, communications, and presentations to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations. • In addition to demonstrating solid business project management skills, the project manager must have a general background or experience with the investments domain and must be able to understand the needs of the stakeholders across the front, middle and back office to ensure that solutions are aligned to the business needs. This individual will be driving projects through the project life cycle and working with other project managers to help define and reinforce investment management project standards.
Responsibilities: • Responsible for developing and maintaining project plan, Agile JIRA board, and project communication tools; adept in both waterfall and agile management methodologies.
• Ability to lead the Agile team through Scrum ceremonies and related activities to plan, capture, and meet sprint deliverables; maintain the JIRA board; and provide appropriate reporting metrics and status. • Prior experience with Capital Markets projects involving stakeholders from operations, technology, finance, risk etc.
• Prior experience with business process improvement projects involving multiple functional areas (Nice to have) • Responsible for managing a large project team of business analysts, business SMEs, and vendor partners to ensure they stay on track and meet agreed upon deliverables with direction as agreed to by key stakeholders. • Ability to identify/manage risks and issues and collaboratively develop mitigation plans and escalate as appropriate with the team, management, and interfacing teams. • Coordinate completion of required project governance documents/artifacts to meet corporate guidelines. • Accountable for meeting all business requirements from development through implementation.
• Partner with PMO organizations to ensure best practices and planning for implementation.
• Ability to communicate and work with various business and technical SMEs as well as stakeholders to support the business needs. • Facilitate lessons learned and retain information in a central location for future use. • Demonstrated ability to partner with investment/business personnel to advance project. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and drive business and systems subject matter experts, based on both investment and technology domain knowledge. • Demonstrated ability to understand how tasks and milestones collaborate and connect across related functionality as well as projects. • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written methods to all levels of an organization. • Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient experience with Project Management tools including but not limited to: Atlassian Jira, Zephyr for Jira, Smartsheets as well as MS Office Suite (Project, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
• PMP is desired but not required. • Projects are large in scope, typically cross-functional and technically difficult, often involving combinations of platforms and computing environments and technologies.
• At least 10+ years of professional experience working at the intersection of investment management with a focus on front, middle and back-office operations required. • Excellent interpersonal and team management skills to promote team productivity and cohesion. • Experience leading and managing large, complex agile transformations, with expertise around specific issues that arise with agile in functions including Investment Operations and Portfolio Risk Analytics and beyond (e.g., IT, Finance, Risk, Legal) and / or scaling agile across the broader enterprise.
