Job Description:

Our client, a leader in integrated land use and real estate development solutions, is seeking a Land Use Partner to join their Los Angeles team. With a proven track record of navigating the complex and ever-evolving world of planning, zoning, and environmental compliance, they pride themselves on delivering innovative solutions to meet the diverse needs of their commercial, industrial, residential, and hospitality clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel on planning, zoning, environmental compliance, and entitlement matters for diverse development projects.
  • Strategically guide clients through land use policies, including general plans, specific plans, variances, and conditional use permits.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address sensitive biological and natural resource issues, as well as emerging environmental challenges.
  • Advise on complex public-private land development agreements, urban infill projects, and mixed-use developments.
  • Manage compliance with evolving greenhouse gas emission requirements and other environmental regulations.
  • Represent clients in entitlement approvals for projects ranging from multiphase master plans to innovative special-purpose facilities such as soundstages and distribution centres.

Qualifications:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the California State Bar.
  • Extensive experience in land use, zoning, and environmental law, with a focus on real estate development.
  • A demonstrated ability to navigate the intersection of regulatory, governmental, community, and natural resource interests.
  • Expertise in securing entitlements, managing environmental compliance, and addressing evolving development challenges.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to represent diverse client interests effectively.
