Our client, a leader in integrated land use and real estate development solutions, is seeking a Land Use Partner to join their Los Angeles team. With a proven track record of navigating the complex and ever-evolving world of planning, zoning, and environmental compliance, they pride themselves on delivering innovative solutions to meet the diverse needs of their commercial, industrial, residential, and hospitality clients.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive legal counsel on planning, zoning, environmental compliance, and entitlement matters for diverse development projects.
Strategically guide clients through land use policies, including general plans, specific plans, variances, and conditional use permits.
Collaborate with stakeholders to address sensitive biological and natural resource issues, as well as emerging environmental challenges.
Advise on complex public-private land development agreements, urban infill projects, and mixed-use developments.
Manage compliance with evolving greenhouse gas emission requirements and other environmental regulations.
Represent clients in entitlement approvals for projects ranging from multiphase master plans to innovative special-purpose facilities such as soundstages and distribution centres.
Qualifications:
A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the California State Bar.
Extensive experience in land use, zoning, and environmental law, with a focus on real estate development.
A demonstrated ability to navigate the intersection of regulatory, governmental, community, and natural resource interests.
Expertise in securing entitlements, managing environmental compliance, and addressing evolving development challenges.
Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to represent diverse client interests effectively.
