Our client is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Center Technician to lead their IoT products' assembly, testing, and troubleshooting. They need someone detail-oriented, innovative, and collaborative, passionate about optimizing processes and improving product quality. You'll work to solve complex technical issues and drive efficiency in an evolving industry.
What You Will Do
Oversee and actively participate in the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of IoT devices, ensuring all products meet technical specifications and performance standards.
Maintain, calibrate, and repair specialized equipment such as SMT machines and automated testing tools used in IoT device production.
Diagnose and repair electronic and mechanical issues in both devices and equipment, working closely with the engineering team to resolve complex problems.
Collaborate with product development teams on firmware and software integration during assembly, troubleshooting any connectivity or functionality issues.
Lead efforts to improve production efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance throughput without compromising quality.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior technicians, ensuring a collaborative and productive work environment.
Ensure adherence to high-quality control standards, working with R&D to address any issues before shipment.
Maintain compliance with safety standards and industry regulations, conduct regular audits, and participate in safety training.
Keep detailed documentation of equipment maintenance, production performance, and quality control, and generate reports as needed.
Requirements
Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics (Bachelor's degree preferred) or similar field of study.
5+ years of experience as a technician in the manufacturing of electronic devices, preferably IoT or consumer electronics.
At least 2 years in a senior position.
Fluent English is mandatory. Knowledge of Spanish and French is an advantage.
Skills
Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of IoT device architecture (sensors, wireless communication like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa) and embedded systems. Experience with PCB assembly, soldering, and testing low-power, wireless, connected devices.
Hands-On Technical Support & Teamwork: Solid technical background with the capability to assist and mentor technicians in their work. Strong teamwork skills, working alongside cross-functional teams to overcome technical hurdles and enhance operational efficiency.
Problem-Solving: Strong ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to both manufacturing equipment and IoT devices.
Attention to Detail: High precision in handling electronic components and maintaining stringent quality control.
Industry Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing standards such as CE, FCC, UL, and ISO.
Preferred Attributes: Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, experience with ERP/MES systems, and knowledge of cybersecurity measures for IoT devices.
