As leaders in privacy and data security law, they help their clients manage the ever-evolving legal and regulatory challenges of the digital age. With a practical, business-oriented approach, they guide companies across diverse industries in managing risk, achieving compliance, and capitalising on opportunities in the data economy.
Responsibilities:
Provide practical and actionable counsel on regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, and FTC guidance.
Draft internal and external policies that align with statutory compliance and best practices.
Lead internal and forensic investigations during data breaches, collaborating with technology partners to trace incidents and mitigate risks.
Evaluate clients' internal practices and data security protocols to ensure accountability and vendor/customer risk control.
Deliver training programs to employees on privacy and data security standards and procedures.
Counsel clients on selecting and managing cyber-insurance policies.
Advise clients operating across sectors, including SaaS, streaming entertainment, e-commerce, hospitality, professional services, and more.
Examine the data ecosystem to align legal compliance with clients' strategic goals.
Qualifications:
A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar or eligibility for immediate reciprocity.
A deep understanding of privacy and cybersecurity laws, regulations, and sector-specific statutes.
Proven ability to counsel clients in industries like technology, media, e-commerce, and professional services.
Practical, business-oriented insights to help clients balance legal compliance with business priorities.
Familiarity with data security technologies and forensic investigation processes.
Ability to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, including technology, intellectual property, and media law experts.
