Each year, CarMax Auto Finance (CAF) helps CarMax customers with vehicle financing and optional protection products. The Manager of Credit Risk is responsible for providing analytical leadership and support for the effective management and growth of CAF's portfolio of originations, including voluntary protection products, originations and portfolio management functions. The Manager develops and maintains an understanding of key business metrics in the areas of credit underwriting, pricing, loss forecasting and/or consumer activities to effectively manage these areas and is willing to think creatively to drive change as the business evolves. The role provides the opportunity to understand, communicate, and influence CAF objectives and processes to the larger CarMax organization. The Manager of Credit Risk for Servicing Analytics partners with Operations to lead and guide in the strategy and execution design and is responsible for the analytical oversight of our outbound collection customer contact strategies
What you will do
Leverage data to develop a deep understanding of CAF's business operations and growth strategies. This may include analytical work within or across any of the following teams: credit originations, servicing strategy, forecasting/modeling, product management, and servicing analytics
Coordinate efforts to obtain key data, analyze trends and identify target areas for innovation and develop testing strategies.
Demonstrate strong teamwork by partnering with others to meet common objectives. Be able to lead cross-functional projects not only across CAF but also the larger CarMax organization
Review and analyze existing business strategies and be prepared to use analytical approaches to develop strategy improvements and provide business guidance
Produce reports and analysis for monthly portfolio and process performance, tracking, and evaluation
Be independently responsible for a part of our business from an analytics perspective
Manage a team and/or coach and guide more junior analysts

This Associate must be passionate about using data to drive business decisions, have experience working within an analytical team, and have the ability to independently manage a team and/or independently own a part of the analytical business.
Qualifications and Requirements
Degree in an analytical major (Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, etc.) with evidence of academic achievement. Advanced degree a plus
3 - 5 years of experience in an analytical or strategic role; experience managing a team is a plus
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau required
Proficiency with database systems and/or software packages (ex: SQL, Python)
Demonstrated ability to use data to drive analytical solutions to complex problems
Ability to explain complex concepts and communicate business insights to other managers with different business backgrounds
Prior Collections experience with auto-dialers and other contact methods preferred
Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Kennesaw, GA Office and has a Hybrid work arrangement
