The Manufacturing Supervisor manages production to ensure the goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, to standard, and accurately shipped. The Manufacturing Supervisor directs and coordinates activities of production departments in processing materials and manufacturing products. The position is the internal resource of knowledge about production schedules, manufacturing capabilities/capacity, timeline requirements, quality control, and shipping standards. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, and work; conferring with plant management to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work and production problems.
CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures as directed by the Plant Manager or other company management regarding safety, operating methods, and behavior. • Ensures that all supervised employees are operating within established company and governmental regulations. • Motivates manufacturing staff by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. • Completes production plan by assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries. • Maintains quality by enforcing organization manufacturing standards. • Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems. • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures. • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. • Maintains good working relationships with the employees. • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical degree is a plus. Previous experience working as production supervisor is preferred. Ability to read specifications, schematics and manuals. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear). Analytical skills and attention to detail. Teamwork and good communication skills. Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers. Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals. Must work effectively with diverse types of people. Must possess verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work overtime and flexible schedule/shifts. Maintains a positive attitude and contributes to a positive work environment. Experience operating a dolly, shrink-wrap machine, pallet jack, forklift and other equipment. Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite applications and ERP systems. Driving is a requirement for this position. Therefore, must have the ability to travel via operating a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver license and driving record which is acceptable to our insurance provider.
