We've teamed up with a revolutionary start-up who aim to harness the full power of light to achieve first-of-its-kind advancements in 3D nanofabrication. Following a successful grant win earlier this year, they're expanding research operations in nanofabrication & optics, creating a need for a Technical Project Manager to join them near Cambridge, MA. They have a team of 15-20 currently, with plans to scale throughout 2025, meaning it's a great time to be joining. The position offers hybrid working out of their Waltham hub, with some remote working allowance when necessary/needed.

What will I do?

This role oversees technical project development, from conception to delivery, and beyond. You'll liaise with key stakeholders to ensure resources and technical risks are managed, as well as managing schedules and delivery timelines to remain aligned with the business' product development roadmap. It's preferable that you come from an engineering background, so you are capable of translating complex technicalities into actionable commercial outcomes.

What skills do I need?

  • Proven engineering background, with recent technical project management expertise.
  • Technically/Academically skilled in Photonics, Optics, Materials, Chemistry or Advanced Manufacturing.
  • Cross-functional project leadership capability; preferably working with Scientists, Engineers & Researchers.
  • Diverse project portfolio, covering more than pure software-based projects.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects, with exceptional time & budget management skills.
  • Previous experience in a start-up, or similarly fast-paced, changeable environment.
  • Well-versed in external & internal stakeholder management.
  • Familiar with nanofabrication / 3D nanofabrication concepts (preferable).
