EVONA has partnered with a leading Satellite development who has opened up a new presence in Colorado. You'd be tasked with leading the full product lifecycle of Satellite systems and components
Responsibilities:
Develop a deep understanding of current generation thermal architecture, analysis and hardware used for LEO spacecraft.
Work with engineers at our partner company in Como, Italy to develop next generation thermal solutions for LEO and GEO spacecraft.
Lead the thermal system, subsystem and unit design, analysis and thermal testing (TVAC and Tcycle) activities in the US office. including analyzing customer needs and customers' payloads requirements
Lead thermal hardware specification and selection and work with our suppliers to source COTS and custom thermal solutions
Work closely with I&T for the build of qual and proto-flight spacecraft, and interfacing to contract manufacturers for higher quantity builds of spacecraft.
Essential Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
5+ years of experience in design and analysis of thermal solutions for space
5+ years of experience with thermal testing: plans and requirements, instrumentation, test GSE (cold plates, shrouds, heaters, MLI), data analysis and model correlation
Experience performing orbital thermal analysis using Thermal Desktop and SINDA FLUINT and meshing in Spaceclaim, or equivalent
Knowledge of relevant industry standards for analysis and test, such as NASA GEVS and SMCS-016 • Successful delivery of hardware that has operated as intended on-orbit
Desired Experience:
Master's Degree or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
10+ years of experience in design, analysis and test of thermal solutions for space
Experience as a Thermal Lead in a medium to large space program
Experience with scripting (Python, MATLAB, etc) is desired for test automation, data processing, and analysis results processing / model correlation
Experience with Thermica and other secondary thermal tools
Experience with Mechanical CAD and PLM/PDM tools (Solidworks preferred)
Experience working on proposals and interacting with commercial and government customers (design reviews, etc)
