Gibson & Associates is seeking qualified insurance claims adjusters in the casualty space. We are an established claims adjusting firm with an excellent reputation for solid claims handling. We focus on the Lloyd's marketplace and our work involves handling claims for unique risks. We don't do cookie-cutter claims. Each claim is different and requires thoughtful handling. Many of our claims are complex, and require thought.
Our family is just that - a family. We work together and support each other both personally and professionally. We offer competitive salary and benefits, and the opportunity to handle a variety of claims across the country.
While we are based in southwest Missouri, our infrastructure allows for fully remote working.
Responsibilities
Handling first and/or third-party claims across the United States, our adjusters investigate claims, evaluate coverage, communicate with insureds, independent adjusters, attorneys, experts, and clients. We make claim notes, engage in written correspondence and reporting, evaluate insurance coverage and draft coverage position letters. We establish and monitor reserves. Ultimately, our goal is to move claims towards appropriate resolution as efficiently as possible.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate is able to work independently, manage a variety of tasks, obligations, and deadlines, and take the initiative to handle claims proactively. We don't micromanage our team members, but support them.
We prefer our candidates to have at least a bachelor's degree.
We require a minimum of five years licensed claims adjusting experience in casualty claim handling.
We expect our candidates to have a claims adjuster license in their home state or a designated home state license. We also require a New York adjuster's license.
Because so much of what we do relies on written work and excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Negotiation, investigation, and interpersonal skills are extremely important.
An understanding of the Lloyd's marketplace is preferred, but not absolutely necessary.
Our team members must have good computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability to work within a computerized claim system.
