We are seeking a Controller who will oversee all accounting and financial operations, to provide timely data about all company activities to assist with asset management, vendor payments, and cash flow. This role will be responsible for maintaining all controls and procedures related to the company's financial accounts.
Responsibilities
Supervise 5 staff members (who are they)
Handle bank reconciliations
Maintain and enhance documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Validate that month-end and year-end closing processes are completed accurately and timely
Develop and monitor internal financial controls, to minimize risk
Manage the production of periodic financial reports
Ensure that reported financial data complies with (GAAP) Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and is accurate
Familiar with international financial reporting standards
Sustain company's financial health
Control cash flow and vendor obligations
Point of escalation for customer issues or complaints
Accurate and timely submission of AIA Billing
Collaborate with external auditors to provide requested information for annual audit
File quarterly and annual reports with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Accurately verify and record weekly Prevailing Wage hours on time sheets
Qualifications
Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or leadership role
Experience with Sage accounting software, ERP systems
Adept with relevant accounting standards, such as GAAP and SEC financial reporting regulations
Provide recommendations on improving Return on Asset and Equity measures
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
Familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting, and forecasting
