Selby Jenning's has partnered with a leading Bank seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fixed Income Trader to join their dynamic trading team. The successful candidate will assist in executing trades, managing risk, and optimizing portfolio performance across various fixed income instruments. This role is ideal for someone with up to 1-2 years of experience in trading or a related field, looking to grow their career in financial markets.
Key Responsibilities
Execute buy and sell orders for fixed income securities, including government, corporate, and municipal bonds.
Monitor and analyze market trends, economic data, and financial news to inform trading decisions.
Support senior traders in managing portfolios and developing trading strategies.
Maintain relationships with brokers, dealers, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk policies.
Prepare daily trade reports and contribute to performance analysis.
Collaborate with research, risk, and portfolio management teams to align trading activities with broader investment objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Up to 2 years of experience in trading, investment management, or financial analysis (internship experience accepted).
Basic understanding of fixed income markets, instruments, and risk metrics.
Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and Bloomberg Terminal.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with fixed income pricing models and trading platforms.
Series 7, Series 63, or other relevant certifications (or willingness to obtain).
