Position Overview
Diversified Financial Management (DFM) seeks a Wealth Advisor for its recently opened Wellesley office. The Wealth Advisor will support the investment and planning work provided to existing clients while playing a key role as part of a growing investment advisory and financial planning practice. He or she will be tasked with assisting in the growth of the company by way of referrals and personal networks. Importantly, the Wealth Advisor will be expected to assume ongoing responsibility for new client relationships, and be accountable for the client's total experience at DFM. Compensation in the form of salary, bonus, and benefits will be both competitive within the industry and commensurate with experience. The role requires some limited travel within New England and occasional travel to other states to meet with clients.
Responsibilities:
Prepare client-specific investment, retirement, and other financial planning analyses.
Organize materials for client and prospect meetings, as well as preparation of marketing documents.
Participate in client and prospect meetings, as well as attend industry related meetings, webinars, and conference calls.
Become a proficient user of investment and financial planning-related tools.
Generate business development opportunities through his or her professional network and centers of influence.
Remain current with investment industry compliance standards which include continuing education and other areas of professional development.
Qualifications: • BS/BA degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience; CFP designation strongly preferred. • Minimum five years of experience in the financial planning or investment management fields. • The ideal candidate is comfortable contributing as part of a team, with a desire to learn and grow within the dynamic wealth management industry. • Special consideration will be given to individuals with their own book of business.
Required Skills/Experience: • Excellent communication and listening skills. • Fluency in financial planning concepts combined with deep understanding of wealth management techniques. • Desire to network and develop new business opportunities. • Self-starter, motivated, open to learn, organized, with a strong attention to detail. • Proficient in the Microsoft Office product suite. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Familiarity with eMoney financial planning software, CRM, and
accounting / investment performance systems. • Work with our team to develop holistic financial plans encompassing client goals related to investments, retirement, estate planning, charitable, tax. • Track client financial plans and account activity while servicing client needs. • Lead client meetings and become integrated into client relationships. • Ability to convey wealth management concepts and strategies to clients through written communication. • Be valued resource for clients' attorneys, accountants, and outside advisors.
