The VP, Commercial Lending Officer will examine, evaluate, and authorize approval of customer applications for commercial loans. This position reports to the RVP of Commercial Lending.

Responsibilities:
Successfully manage and develop our commercial loan portfolio.
Build strong relationships with customers and members while maintaining an active calling program prospecting new clients.
Consistently identify and analyze potential new business markets to develop prospects for commercial loans.
Extensive experience with commercial lending within the local market with knowledge of key players and a thorough knowledge of lending products and underwriting standards.
Serve existing accounts, review quarterly, semi-annual and annual findings for compliance and credit determination.
Maintain and confirm credit worthiness of customers.
Gather, review and track appropriate documentation from applicants.
Participate in the underwriting of loan requests for new and existing customers.
Due diligence would include verifying financial information provided, analyzing financial statements, conducting credit checks and assuring loan meets all policy and regulatory requirements.
Promote and cross-sell other bank products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.
Required Qualifications:
10 years or more of direct underwriting and portfolio management experience.
Knowledge of SBA and other similar government guarantee programs preferred.
Bachelor's degree from a four year College or University is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
