A Risk Operations Analyst plays a critical role directly supporting and evolving North Rock's market risk management platform. The individual will focus on the intersection of risk management and operational processes within North Rock. This role will collaborate with members of the risk operations and cross-functional risk technology teams to identify opportunities for improving the firm's risk management capabilities and operational workflows.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review recurrent and ad-hoc market risk reporting and analyses.
Support risk management deliverables including applications, underlying operational processes, and reporting.
Collaborate with onshore and offshore colleagues to maintain and advance the risk platform.
Perform functional testing of new enhancements.
Document new and proposed risk application features and processes.
Coordinate closely with technology team to implement new risk system features and support existing functionality.
Encourage a hands-on mentality within the team to empower members to take ownership of their tasks.
Provide data quality assurance including but not limited to completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness.
Desired background:
Bachelor's degree in finance, mathematics, or a related field; advanced certifications (like CFA) are a plus.
Experience working in the financial services industry preferred.
Fundamental understanding of equity and equity derivative market risk.
Experience using SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex risk concepts to end-users.
Hands-on mentality: willingness to solve problems directly rather than relying exclusively on delegation or theoretical solutions.
