The Network Security Administrator safeguards the organization's networks and connected systems with a focus on operating, maintaining, and updating existing network security controls to protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber attacks. This role collaborates closely with the broader IT team, working cross-functionally to strengthen the company's security posture. The Administrator supports the Information Security team by maintaining existing controls and tools while promoting security best practices. The incumbent must be able to work independently and on teams and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Duties:
Administer and maintain network security tools, focusing on firewall administration and maintenance to ensure protection and optimal performance.
Apply and manage firewall policy updates to align with evolving security requirements.
Collaborate with the Information Security team on joint initiatives, acting as a primary network representative for cross-functional projects.
Implement updates to security tools to limit risk and assist with deploying controls.
Support engineers with hardware refresh projects.
Maintain firewall and operating system equipment inventory databases on high value and critical components by tracking quantities, sparing, and part and serial numbers.
Assist with responding to network security breaches.
Create and update technical documentation to support ongoing operations and future security initiatives.
Must be able to work during normal business hours as well as nights or weekends as needed to support on-call coverage and maintenance windows.
Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment, with at least two days per week in a Denver, Colo., office.
Approximately 10% travel will be required for onsite support, datacenter build-out/expansions, or needed training.
Strong technical knowledge of managing networks and checkpoint firewalls including development, implementation, and on-going support.
Basic understanding of network security design and background with network technologies.
Some cross-functional knowledge across systems administration, networking, and information security.
Knowledge about vulnerability management.
Team oriented, working well as part of a group and independently as needs dictate.
Ability to prioritize day to day requests with ongoing maintenance and updates.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in either Information Technology or a related field preferred.
At least four years of Firewalls with Checkpoint experience.
At least four years of IT network or network security experience.
Relevant network and security certifications highly preferred

Compensation:
Compensation for this role includes a base salary between $80,000 and $90,000 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus and equity, based upon individual and company performance.
