Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


(Essential functions include but are not limited to the following)



  • Balances and maintains safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee morale to achieve positive results in all areas; working to continuously improve all areas.

  • Provides leadership, management, direct supervision, motivation, positive and professional approach to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention.

  • Confirms compliance with Safety and Quality professional standards.

  • Reports safety incidents to Safety Manager immediately and enters documentation into Safety management software.

  • Leads a safe, well-organized workplace with active WPO in a TPS Environment.

  • Performs and verifies product Quality conformance to company standards and communicates issues appropriately and in a timely fashion.

  • Provides direction to employees when Quality inspection and quarantine of products fail to meet OBE standards, engaging in a Root Cause Analysis.

  • Records daily KPIs and maintains updated reports throughout the day and summarizes at the end of the shift.

  • Handles employee relations, team building, & creates a positive work environment.

  • Ensures a healthy employee experience by providing employee coaching and development and resolving employee issues through problem solving.

  • Performs employee performance appraisals and provides feedback in real-time.

  • Provides employee coaching and discipline according to company policies.

  • Maintains time and production records in Time Keeping software.

  • Engages in regular communication and collaboration with upstream departments to ensure timely shipments that align with customer needs.

  • Enters scrap attributes in the computer system and follows up on rework.

  • Ensures the inventory management system is being utilized correctly and accurately.

  • Ensures the flow of raw materials and other resources and facilitates inter departmental cross training to meet production demands.

  • Enters fully detailed maintenance requests into Maintenance software in a timely manner.

  • Ability to coordinate and motivate multi-talented production employees in a factory setting, sometimes requiring extended working hours.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment.

  • Good computer skills and familiarity with ERP software, Assembly management software, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic.

  • Ability to create and adhere to production processes and deliverables.

  • Must be able to interpret and relay production data and all KPIs.

  • Ability to create professional, effective communications that present with proper grammatical structure and spelling.


Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Production Leader/Shop Leader.

  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment required.


Work Environment:


Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.



  • Noise levels in the work environment are moderately loud.

  • Regularly works near manufacturing equipment and production materials.

  • Some work areas produce dust and metal fragments. Housekeeping is expected of employees to clear debris routinely.

  • The building is heated during the winter, but conditions could be colder in the winter and warmer in the summer.


PPE Requirements:


Hard-hat, ear protection, high-visibility vest, arm guards, gloves, face shields (if position requires), and met guards (if position requires). PPE should always be worn correctly and maintained as per safety regulations.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

  • Regularly required to use hands, fingers, handle objects, and tools.

  • Frequently visit various areas and departments within the plant and office environments.

  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.
