Overview

The Vendor Analyst plays a significant role in supporting BluPeak Credit Union enterprise-wide Vendor Management program including procurement and cost analysis, vendor onboarding, due diligence, risk assessment, contract management, ongoing monitoring and vendor offboarding. The primary scope of the role includes development of detailed, comprehensive analysis of vendor spend data using multiple sources and internal systems to enhance visibility into vendor cost and helps management drive effective business strategies.


This position will facilitate vendor due diligence and onboarding, as well as assist business units in monitoring vendor performance. It will evaluate and analyze key vendor metrics to ensure vendor engagements are safe and sound, comply with regulatory requirements, service level agreements and support credit union goal attainment. Additionally, the role will work closely with finance and risk management staff to mitigate pricing and other risks.



Responsibilities

This role will perform all of the listed items with suitable supervision and will exhibit solid independent judgement and effective problem-solving skills.

• Perform detailed, comprehensive analysis of vendor spend data using multiple sources and internal systems
• Ensure vendor data is compliant with data integrity standards as well as legal requirements
• Resolve any issues related to vendor data or system functionality and identify areas for improvement
• Collaborate with business units to measure pre-engagement cost and/or estimated savings business case as well as the ongoing and post-engagement cost and/or savings validations
• Provide accurate and timely savings and opportunity analysis of vendor estimates/pricing proposals (RFP’s) including cross-reference current pricing and potential vendor replacements
• Serve as the system administrator for the vendor software program
• Monitor vendor performance through metrics, identifying and defining trends
• Facilitate ongoing vendor performance reviews to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)
• Manage existing contracts lifecycles including remaining cost of the contract term
• Support business units in developing information metrics and reporting pathways
• Oversee vendor risk management queues including initial onboarding, due diligence, risk assessments and vendor offboarding
• Develop and maintain third-party risk reporting and prepare Vendor Oversight Committee materials
• Collaborate with the Information Security team to ensure SOC reports are reviewed timely and accurately
• Participate in initiatives and recommend opportunities for improved efficiency, effectiveness and/or risk reduction
• Contribute to the enhancement of governance practices in alignment with risk and compliance frameworks
• Support management in the gathering and delivery of documents for regulatory examinations or related processes
• Assist with ad hoc requests and analyses from management
• Support other Regulatory Enterprise Risk functions as requested by management
• Adhere to company policy and procedure, complete annual compliance training, comply with business continuity and vendor management policy. These are crucial to the success of the organization and have regulatory compliance and/or safety and soundness for the sustainability of the credit union.
• Comply with all Anti Money Laundering laws such as the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act and all related policies and procedures including accurate Member/Customer Identification Program, member due diligence, accurate OFAC match processing, and reporting unusual activities and suspected fraud.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Three (3) to five (5) or more years of related experience in a financial institution is preferred.
• Vendor Management experience working in procurement, contract management and/or vendor management is required.
o Strong computer skills and willingness to learn GRC specific software programs
o Strong reporting and analytical skills
o Advanced experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access)
o Preferred (but not required) experience in SQL Server and Power BI
o Effective written and verbal communications, analytical, and interpersonal skills
o Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
o Professional and service focused communication etiquette
o Organized, efficient, and able to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines
o Manage and administer processes with appropriate direction from management
o Detail oriented to generate accurate and precise results
o Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job does not supervise other staff but will act in a lead capacity for various projects, initiatives, processes and situations.

Must be organized, self-disciplined and detail-oriented with the ability to manage and juggle multiple projects. Persistent and dependable, especially in meeting deadlines; able to manage multiple competing priorities. This position may request occasional scheduling flexibility or overtime. This position requires the employee to work in office as necessary as well as during regular business hours and occasional nights or weekends as needed to meet established department deadlines.
