POSITION SUMMARY
Maintains records of materials in inventory and on order. Monitors reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies supervisor of irregularities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitors and keeps current inventory levels; processes purchase orders as needed; tracks orders and investigates problems.
Maintains database, performs physical count of inventory, and reconciles actual stock count to computer-generated reports.
Processes and documents return as required following established procedures.
May lead, guide, and train employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control
Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data using ERP system
Database management skills
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
Distinguishing Characteristics
Position requires a) Monitoring and keeping current inventory levels, including reconciling stock counts to computer reports; b) Initiates action to replenish stock by processing purchase orders and other related paperwork; c) Receiving, unpacking, and delivering items to shelves or requesting departments; d) Inspects shipments for accuracy and completeness, and resolves inconsistencies; and e) Performs routine clerical duties in support of unit.

Physical Effort
Considerable physical activity. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
