Position Title: Engineering Specialist 1,2, Sr. - Supply

Location: Muscatine, IA, United States

Description:
The engineering specialist - supply provides high level technical work and directs others in technical work in the planning, designing, procurement and construction of additions, changes or maintenance to MidAmerican Energy Company's generating units. The engineering specialist may participate in the direction of work by the principal engineer, senior engineer, engineer II, engineer I, drafting technicians, contractors and craft personnel.

Responsibilities:
Provide engineering services for the planning, design and construction of project additions to MidAmerican Energy Company's energy delivery system. (45%)

Provide technical project management for all phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost projections. (40%)

Conduct technical studies and investigations and prepare oral and written reports. (10%)

Provide technical assistance to other departments. (5%)

Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical related field or equivalent work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)

Three years related work experience.

Engineering Specialist II must have at a minimum of one to five years' experience.

Senior level must have at a minimum of eight years of related work experience.

Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Project management skills: ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques. Evaluate present practices and implement processes, concepts, training and tools to prevent, detect and correct human errors that may adversely impact the safe, reliable operation of the electric transmission and distribution system.
