Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Englewood, CO that is looking for an experienced Network Engineer with expertise in DOCSIS and customer premises equipment (CPE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and troubleshooting network devices, with the ability to pull logs and access device configurations. A solid understanding of CMTS, routing, switching, and various network protocols is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Network Engineer will manage and maintain CPE devices, ensuring optimal performance and reliability


• Pull logs and access devices for troubleshooting and performance monitoring


• Work with DOCSIS and Optical Network Units (ONU), with flexibility on expertise in either area


• Understand and configure CMTS systems, focusing on device connectivity and performance


• Implement and manage routing and switching functions across the network


• As a Network Engineer, you will utilize and configure network protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP, IPv4, IPv6, and Multicast


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve network issues and optimize performance


• Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field


• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, specifically with DOCSIS and CPE devices


• Strong understanding of CMTS systems and how they integrate with CPE devices


• Experience in routing and switching, with proficiency in relevant protocols


• Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting and log analysis


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Skills:

• Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent) are a plus


• Familiarity with network management and monitoring tools


• Knowledge of advanced networking concepts and technologies


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
