The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology is seeking a Visiting Scholar to conduct research in the lab of Dr. Manling Zhang.
The lab of Dr. Manling Zhang's lab is particularly interested in studying the role of multiple epigenetic regulation in heart failure and cardiac development. The research being done will consist of work related to two projects: 1. Mettl14 governs cardiomyocyte maturation. This is funded by an AHA Second Century Early Faculty Independence Award, Project Title: Mettl14 governs cardiomyocyte maturation. The 2nd grant is an NIH R03 entitled “Mettl14 mediated mRNA methylation orchestrates postnatal cardiac development”.
The visiting scholar position requires a strong background in cardiovascular basic research. They must be highly skilled in molecular and cellular biology, with extensive experience in animal studies and primary rat neonatal myocyte research. These are all critical components of the two funded grants.
Time/Effort allocation – 100% Research
Minimum Requirements - MD/Ph.D. specializing in Cardiology. Knowledge of basic science methods and statistical software.
