The Project Engineer is accountable for the Controls (hardware/software) project design of engineering phase with top-down oversight from inception (Proposal) to completion (Customer buy off). The CPE must ensure that all projects are prepared and completed safely adhering to the required standards of budget, timeline and scope.
Main areas of responsibilities are:
Coordinate the Designers, Technical Leaders and Engineers involved in the project, ensuring homogeneous solutions among all commodities
Liaise with the customer, internal functions, and subcontractors to endure the smooth running if the project
Evaluate and review customer requirements & specifications
Review original baseline planning
Review the engineering make/buy strategy
Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progresses
Manage the project within the budget
Identify and document added/reduced scope of work with potential impact on resource workload, timing and costs
Be appointed as customer technical interface
Review and update the project open issues list, project risks and opportunities
Monitor project cost to complete (CTC)
Attend project reviews
React promptly and effectively to customer needs
Review engineering change for timing evaluation and define the best strategy to be implemented
Monitor and update the status of the engineering change activities in each phase.
