SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the supervision of production Team Members for quality safety humane handling of livestock working with FSIS inspector's local livestock producer's truckers and any additional assignments deemed appropriate by management for this position. The individual in this position must work closely with the management team in achieving objectives; accept full accountability assignments and day-to-day department responsibility; must be a team player.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. A related bachelor's degree in lieu of experience will also be considered.
Experience: 1 year of experience in a meat manufacturing environment, preferably in pork or beef production and prior supervisory experience is required
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. For example, generating simple letters spreadsheets or creating simple queries.
Communication Skills: Strong people skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual helpful.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This person manages the receiving penning and moving of livestock to the slaughter department in a humane manner.
Travel: 0 - 10
Special Skills: Team Leader problem solving and special projects. Extra consideration given to team members with technical skills; must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce
