Director, Content Editor & Writer

Our Marketing division is committed to establishing enduring connections with both travelers and partners. We aim to foster a deep sense of trust and affinity for our brands, achieved through creative excellence and innovative marketing strategies.

Expedia Group is seeking a seasoned content editor and writer to lead and craft our partner content development efforts. This individual will play a pivotal role in creating compelling narratives to strengthen partner relationships, enhance our brand presence, and lead a high-performing team of content professionals. You'll collaborate closely with Public Relations, Marketing, and Commercial teams to drive our content across multiple lines of business and multiple channels.

As an experienced content leader, you will own the development of impactful content ranging from thought leadership articles, website and blog, email campaigns, to high-profile industry event presentations for our Supply, Advertising and Private Label Solutions team. You will ensure that all content across Global Communications is on brand, resonates with our multiple audiences, and supports our broader marketing and business objectives. This is a unique opportunity for a visionary content expert to shape the voice of Expedia Group and further its reputation as a leader in the travel and technology industries.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and define the strategy for content creation, management, and distribution across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and objectives
  • Lead and inspire a team of content experts to create their best work
  • Craft, edit, and oversee a wide array of content including articles and email campaigns. This will span across the Global Communications organization
  • Build an event content development function that works on our annual partner Event Explore, global partner forums and industry event
  • Develop thought leadership content that highlights Expedia Group's innovation, leveraging our third-party research reports
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business goals
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Public Relations, Marketing, and Commercial teams to deliver strategic content that resonates with audiences and supports growth
  • Drive content innovation by identifying emerging trends and technologies, ensuring Expedia Group is at the forefront of industry best practices
  • Track and measure content performance, optimizing strategies based on data-driven insights
  • Manage content workflows, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within scope
  • Oversee the allocation of resources, ensuring that content teams work efficiently and within budget constraints
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring the seamless execution of content initiatives

Experience and qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in content creation, editing, and management within a fast-paced, global organization
  • A master storyteller with the ability to craft compelling narratives across multiple mediums, from executive newsletters to industry presentations
  • Proven experience leading teams and driving cross-functional collaboration, particularly with marketing, product, and communication teams
  • A strong business acumen, with the ability to align content strategies with broader business and marketing objectives
  • Experience in thought leadership development, including research, showcasing an ability to position a company as an industry leader
  • Demonstrated success in managing and optimizing content workflows, prioritizing resources effectively to meet deadlines
  • Passion for producing high-quality content that drives measurable business outcomes, with a strong understanding of digital and traditional content platforms
  • A team player who thrives in collaborative environments, but also has the conviction and confidence to lead independently when required
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data and insights to inform content strategies and measure their impact
  • A strategic thinker who can see the big picture but also attends to detail, ensuring that all content is polished and on-brand

The total cash range for this position in West Hollywood is $196,000 to $274,500 USD. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $313,500 USD, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $196,000 to $274,500 USD. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $333,000 USD, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in New York City is $208,000 to $291,500 USD. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $313,500 USD, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $196,000.00 to $274,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $313,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
