Join the Point-of-Sale Modernization team! As a Lead Software Engineer, you will work on a highly complex, cross-platform effort with varying technology solutions (infrastructure, software, middleware, etc.). You will partner with product owners, business systems analysts, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver secure, compliant, scalable technology solutions.
The most suitable hire for this position will be a highly analytical candidate with software development, problem-solving, mentoring, writing, and presentation skills, including communicating effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business partners. The candidate will be hands-on with a team of software engineers and testers, providing technical direction and leadership. As the technical expert within the product portfolio, the candidate will develop, unit test, debug, support, and document the technical aspects of the technology solutions within the assigned product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Participate and lead in architecture and design discussions with cross-functional team members.
Drive continual delivery of improvements to the applications and technology through sound Agile development practices.
Work closely with Business Systems Analysts and IT management; assist Agile team members with day-to-day direction and clarification of requirements.
Create design artifacts such as user stories, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively convey product workflow architecture and user experiences to stakeholders.
Provide support and subject matter expertise on business rules and processes to the developers, test lead, and other team members during all project phases.
Collaborate with Agile teams to ensure requirements, design, and desired outcomes are clearly communicated and attend Agile events (daily stand-up, iteration planning, backlog refinement, iteration review, and sprint retrospectives)
Work in the development of project plans, management of projects, monitoring project performance, and development of implementation plans.
Provide after-hours support during the application deployment on an as needed basis.
Lead and participate in development activities and guide the team to improve code quality.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or other analytical discipline or equivalent experience
7+ years of software engineering experience
7+ years of experience with designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-level applications.
5+ years of experience analyzing business problems and translating business requirements into technology solutions using object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, service-oriented architecture, and solution frameworks.
5+ years of experience with TFS/Git code management, DevOps Integration, DevOps Pipelines, or other CI/CD tools
5+ years of experience implementing Cloud Data storage technologies.
5+ years of experience implementing solutions in a DataLake/Databricks environment.
4+ years of experience with Microsoft .NET Core and C#
3+ years of hands-on experience implementing solutions in Kafka.
3+ years of experience with data partitioning, compaction, and open-source file formats like Parquet, AVRO, and Delta
Experience with Scrum/Agile/Kanban
Preferred Requirements:
9+ years of software engineering experience
9+ years of experience with designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-level applications.
7+ years experience analyzing business problems and translating business requirements into technology solutions using object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, service-oriented architecture, and solution frameworks.
7+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka, Azure cloud computing technologies, designing, and developing REST APIs and Windows services.
7+ years of experience with TFS/Git code management, DevOps Integration, DevOps Pipelines, or other CI/CD tools
7+ years experience with Data storage technologies (such as Azure Cosmos DB, Mongo DB, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, Azure Queues)
7+ years of experience working in a DataLake/Databricks environment handling structured and unstructured data, leveraging data streaming, and developing data pipelines driven by events/queues.
6+ years of experience with Microsoft .NET Core, C#, Python, XML/JSON, XSLT, YAML, and PowerShell
5+ years of experience with data partitioning, compaction, and open-source file formats like Parquet, AVRO, and Delta
Experience with Python, XML/JSON, XSLT, YAML, and PowerShell
