Job Description

We are looking to add a dynamic and driven Managing Partner (CBDO) primarily focused on business development to our team. As a key member of the leadership team, the candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping Headlight's brand narrative, mission, and company culture. This role will collaborate with the Founder of Headlight to align marketing strategies with business objectives, drive growth, maximize ROI, and determine a TEAM approach to developing and maintaining relationships with clients and prospects of the agency.

The Managing Partner (CBDO) position demands a strategic thinker who will provide leadership throughout the business development cycle, including targeting clients, conducting and leading outreach, leveraging professional network to arrange introductory meetings, preparing presentation materials, drafting scopes of work, and coordinating new client onboarding. The candidate will be responsible for strategic planning & developing sales strategies, researching & qualifying new business opportunities, and defining & executing revenue goals across brand partnerships & experience design initiatives. This role will play a crucial role in enhancing the agency's visibility, attracting new clients, and strengthening brand presence in the industry.

Position Overview

This is a full-time remote position located in Los Angeles, CA for Managing Partner (CBDO). The main responsibility of the Managing Partner (CBDO) is to generate new business and maintain client relations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire account cycle from finding a potential client to securing a deal
  • Research and identify potential clients and new business opportunities, and develop and execute strategies to secure partnerships with clients, including negotiating terms and agreements
  • Reach out to prospects through cold calls, emails and leveraging prior connections
  • Respond to inquiries and qualify leads by understanding the prospect's business needs, budget, and timeline
  • Lead the participation, collaboration, and internal coordination of high-level pitches
  • Create and manage thorough tracking of all current clients, outreach, prospects, targeted client engagements and partnership development in CRM
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that result in enhanced partnerships and increased opportunities
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and strategic responses to client inquiries, questions and feedback
  • Conduct thorough industry research, analysis and provide recommendations in an effort to gain greater knowledge of our industry, understand industry trends, competitor activities, and client preferences in support of client goals
  • Develop impactful industry relationships with agencies, brands, labels, talent and their representation, studios, sport teams, tourism offices and media contacts to position Headlight as a premier boutique agency
  • Participate in the recruiting of other team members and training efforts
  • Participate in developing and executing the long and short-term goals of the Business

Qualifications

  • Must have existing network of relationships and a desire to expand and grow
  • Minimum 7 years experience in developing business and delivering leads and prospects within experiential, creative, advertising and/or media agency
  • Proven track record of securing new business, building client relationships and identifying opportunities for growth
  • Leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly autonomous, strategic thinker, self-motivated, and results-driven
  • Experience managing relationships with clients, properties and agency partners
  • Proficiency using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and CRM(s)
  • May be expected to work varied hours including holidays and weekends.

Compensation

In recognition of the pivotal role you will play in our startup phase, the compensation for this position is results-driven. In the interim as we grow, instead of a monthly salary you will receive 10% commission of each secured contract. As a managing partner you may also be eligible to receive a negotiated equity stake in the company, truly reflecting your efforts and commitment. Headlight intends to provide a competitive total compensation package which includes a variety of incentives, benefits, growth and developmental opportunities.
