Apex Leadership Company is an emerging franchisor that is growing rapidly with 120 units and 60 franchisees in 33 states. Our method is to collaborate with school PTO/As and faculty to build student leaders through a meaningful, "hassle-free" and financially successful school Fun Run. Apex franchise owners employ former Pro and college athletes to teach the students about leadership and fitness for 2 weeks and then host a Fun Run. Our Fun Runs have averaged 6x the amount netted in traditional school fundraising so schools giving communities the necessary resources to support their children.
We combine four important skillsets for students - education, fitness, leadership, and raising money for their school - in our unique school Fun Runs. To date, over 4 million students served and more than $120 million netted for 5,000 schools.

The Opportunity
At a crucial inflection point Apex Leadership seeks an exceptional Vice President of Franchise Development to lead the Franchise Development function and help ensure the continued acceleration and scaling of the business. While an already successful and established franchise and growing double digits YOY, Apex has less than 3% of the market share today. With tremendous white space, the VP of Franchise Development will have a direct impact on growing the business.
Reporting to the CEO, Jamie Krasnov, this person will be a critical member of Apex's growth oriented executive leadership team. The Vice President will be responsible for collaborating with the ELT to set the strategic vision for the organization.
Scope and Responsibilities
The Vice President of Franchise Development will lead franchise development efforts for Apex Leadership. The VP of Franchise Development is responsible for all franchise sales activity related to the development of new franchisees for the company. As the VP, Franchise Development, you will also assist in creating the strategy for lead generation, approve territories, and close sales. The individual selected for this role will have a strategic, growth-oriented mindset. He/She will have the proven ability to identify where improvements can be made and develop success-driven plans. This role has critical impact to overall company revenue and profitability as well as being the key driver in Apex Leadership's continued development. He/She must be highly motivated and a self-starter. The VP, Franchise Development must be able to deliver and execute the entire franchise sales process from sourcing organic lead(s) through closing. Apex Leadership is looking for someone who is data oriented, strategic and analytical. This individual will play a key role in shaping how Apex expands into new markets and will help set the strategy around the entire franchise development process.
Specific Responsibilities • Responsible for leading and delivering annual growth goals for the Apex Leadership Company. • Analyze pipeline and lead data, deliver periodic reporting to leadership and marketing teams providing key business insights; typical reporting relates to demand generation, pipeline forecast, trends & closing rates. • Work closely with the marketing department to provide feedback on the various advertising and lead generation sources used to ensure a healthy pipeline of qualified franchise candidates • Manage sales metrics which include key selling milestones, new sale units and EBITDA targets. • Identify and solve complex business questions using data / analytics capabilities that will accelerate and enhance business performance. • Remain on the cutting edge of new ideas for franchise development, lead generation and customer engagement. • Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction. • Host candidates/clients for dinners and other similar formal or informal meetings. • Travel to headquarters, attend trade/broker shows, and other assignments • Successfully communicate and work with CEO, external contacts, and internal departments to perform responsibilities. • Maintain confidentiality of personal information. • Interface with others in a professional manner.
Key Selection Criteria • 8-15 years' experience in sales and development with proven success in meeting and exceeding targets. • Proven success sourcing and closing organic, paid & broker leads with success with a minimum of 20 franchise deals a year. • Ability to set clear metrics (closing ratios and leads) in semi-annual planning and meeting or exceeding goals. • Ability to build strong relationships. Connect with potential and existing franchisees as well as cross functional peers to ensure revenue growth and delivery of plan. • A creative problem solver who is highly driven and will refuse to miss their sales targets (will hunt for places to fish). • A hands-on leader with the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment as an individual contributor and in an ambiguous environment. Self-starter who is comfortable defining their path. • Connection to the Mission-both of improving schools /fundraising and improving lives of our Franchisees. • Experience in a children's franchise platform or service based franchisor is preferred. • Passion for and demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding the product, our business, and the competitive landscape. • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines and handle multiple requests. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to present material to individuals or groups clearly and effectively. • Bachelor's Degree
