Woodland Country Day School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Spanish to teach students from PreK through 8th grade. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the Spanish language, cultural engagement, and the ability to create an inclusive, dynamic, and engaging classroom environment for young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach Spanish to students from PreK through 8th grade.
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
Foster a love of language learning and cultural awareness in students.
Provide a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation.
Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to align lessons with school standards and curricula.
Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Ensure a smooth transition for students during the long-term substitute period.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field required.
Teaching experience preferred, especially with PreK-8th grade students.
Proficiency in Spanish with strong speaking, reading, and writing skills.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all ages.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
