A Day in the Life
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Linux Administrator to join our team and take a leading role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Linux-based systems. In this critical position, you will ensure the stability, security, and performance of our infrastructure while contributing to the design and implementation of innovative solutions to meet organizational needs. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Linux system administration, scripting, and automation, along with strong problem-solving and leadership abilities. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, drive technological advancements, and support mission-critical operations. Additionally, this position will be request to help support various third party applications and appliances on an as needed basis. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with other IT functions.


• Installs, operates, manages, and maintains hardware and/or software, including administrator and service accounts, maintenance of system documentation, tuning system performance, backup/recovery, and other planned configuration changes.


• Interacts with users and other stakeholders to plan and implement changes and deliver support.


• Contributes to evaluation and recommendations for vendor products, manages and monitors policies and standards for the use of computing resources, and executes on programs and projects within a specific IT function.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of engineering / Linux administration experience

OR

• An advanced degree with 2 years of engineering / Linux administration experience

Nice to have

• Previous experience with Medtronic


• Windows Administration


• Networking experience


• VMware experience


• Cloud experience (AWS)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$92,000.00 - $138,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
