The Data Analyst is able to perform complete life cycle data generation and outline critical information for users. Data Analyst will partner with business stakeholders and product teams to collect and document business requirements, prioritize and manage their backlog, develop analysis and reporting capabilities / requirements, needs to be able to analyze business procedures and recommend specific types of data that can be used to improve upon them.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively administers systems, processes and datasets: Manages master data, including creation, updates, and deletion. Manages users and user roles in various BI tools and datasets. Manages and designs the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata. Provides Level 1 support for report and data related helpdesk tickets.
Works collaboratively with Information Services to troubleshoot, research, and escalate issues as necessary, proactively keeping end users aware of status and taking responsibility for ensuring that outstanding issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Provides functional data support: Develops and implements datasets, data collection systems, data analytics and reports. Troubleshoots the reporting environment and reports. Filters and cleans data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct problems. Creates documentation to train end users on BI Tools, new reports and dashboards, business processes, business requirements, change requests, code documentation and collection into the repository.
Plans and develops processes, reports, and automation: Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources and maintains datasets. Identifies opportunities for enhancements, automation and self-service in an effort to achieve a higher level of excellence. Supports the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements. Supports initiatives for data integrity and normalization. Develops and provides ad-hoc reports as requested. Works with data security in mind with all that we do, who and how the information is shared with people, and ensuring permissions to the datasets and reports are only accessible to those with permissions to that information. Works with the data governance team to ensure that standards are followed around business processes, KPI's, custom field calculations, data and report storage, and other data and reporting governance type activities.
Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large groups. Must be able to work in various temperatures. Move about in a manufacturing environment and surrounding property.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by facility.
Travel: Up to 25%
Technical Experience: 3 years of experience in data analysis and reporting. Strong preference for previous experience with BI tools and processes.
Industry Experience: Preference for food processing organization.
Minimum Educati on : Associates Degree in Computer science, Business Intelligence certificate or 2 years of Experience developing reports and datasets.
Preferred Education : BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
