Your primary function will be delivering adult learning classes on different types of Bridge Inspection as a part of a two person team to approximately 30 students during a 3 to 5 day session in locations across the US. Consor holds contracts with state, federal and local agencies acoss the country. To stay on the cutting edge of the the market, we team with the NHI to train other professionals in the industry. We need individuals to join a primary instructors to deliver these classes. This will allow you to network throughout the industry, evaluate other professionals and feedback, improve class materials and develop new lessons. You will help other professionals with maintaining certifications, improving subject knowledge, and gaining valuable experience and instruction hours. You will significantly contribute to the strategic goal of the company, marketing opportunities with current and potential clients, and the betterment of the transportation industry as a whole.
• Providing on-site training services throughout multiple states, for classes ranging from 3 to 5 days in length.
• Evaluating training feedback (both by official feedback forms and by in-class observation) to monitor and improve course effectiveness and make any necessary adjustments to training programs.
• Researching and developing innovative training approaches specifically for the targeted audiences.
• Identifying and managing resources to ensure the most cost effective and efficient application of resources.
• Providing innovative and educated solutions to the Consor Project Manager regarding the training program’s needs assessment, curriculum design, and program evaluation.
• Developing and updating training materials as required.
• B.S Civil Engineering and minimum eight years of experience in bridge inspection, design, or fabrication
• Successful completion of NHI Instructor Development Course, or the ability to complete this course within six months of hire
• Professional Engineering license, or the ability to obtain this license within two years of hire
• A solid understanding of bridge construction and inspection,
• High-level knowledge of steel fabrication, details, and connection and weld categories.
• Excellent classroom presentation skills and classroom management and experience with training and adult learing techniques
• Ability to travel and to drive long distances
• Experience generating publications
