The Diesel Mechanic will concentrate on the repair, maintenance, and servicing of diesel engines. This will include inspection, diagnosis, and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and machines, like trucks, forklifts and trailers. The Diesel Mechanic will possess in-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems, components, and their unique characteristics, thus allowing them to diagnose and repair issues specific to diesel engines.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Consulting the customer and reading work orders to evaluate the tasks required.
· Preparing work plans after fully scoping out the issues.
· Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions.
· Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts.
· Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts.
· Conducting field visits in case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
· Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
· Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.
· Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
· Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles aging and stocking all incoming material.
· May assist warehouse staff with pulling and preparing orders for shipment, as well as receiving, verifying, staging, and stocking all incoming material.
· Other duties assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
· Communication skills to speak with customers by telephone, email, or in-person.

· Knowledge of basic math and computer skills.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2+ years of proven experience in commercial vehicle operation.
· Diesel mechanic certification preferred. ·
CDL preferred.
· Clean driving record.
· Must pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
· Possess great physical stamina and focus during long driving shifts.
· Comfortable with long-haul transport.
· Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
· Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles.
· Alert, focused, and detail oriented.
· Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. at a time.
Expected Work Hours:
· Monday – Saturday with early and extended hours required according to workload.
