Responsibilities:
• Respond to customer inquires and prioritize tasks according to established procedures and guidelines
•Interpret and communicate leave policies, federal and state leave laws and collective bargaining agreements to customers
•Provide instructions to employees, department managers and others on leave procedures
•Meet performance metrics and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Collaborate with Occupational Health and external stakeholders on the return from leave process
• Process leaves in a case management system
•Notify employees of leave status and implications on pay and benefits
• Maintain accurate leave records for employees
•Review medical certifications and contact medical providers for clarification
•Work with third-party vendors and external stakeholders to ensure accurate leave information
•Support leadership with special projects as needed
•Perform payroll activities to support leave timekeepers
•Investigate leave requests through telephone and written contact with relevant parties
• Document and communicate leave decisions
• Provide timely follow-up to customer questions and concerns
• Research and solve individual employee leave issues; recognize system problems and raise to the leadership team
• Interact with vendors to ensure accurate benefit payments
•Analyze and problem solve situations and propose solutions within acceptable timeframes, routing or escalating complex transactions to the Team Lead for resolution
•Stay updated on changing leave laws and company policies
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and leave laws
•Continually adapt to changes in processes, technology and platforms
• Ensure delivery of business results by meeting or exceeding all service level agreements and delivering on high quality services that meet or exceed customer expectations Qualifications
Qualifications
• 1+ years of related leave administration, Human Resources, other benefit experience or 6+ months of leave assistant experience
• Bachelor's degree or relevant professional experience preferred
• Experience in the healthcare industry and shared services/internal service delivery role preferred
•Proficiency with Office 365 and familiarity with ServiceNow for case/knowledge management
•A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements
