We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Seattle, WA office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will:
Assists management and staff in negotiating, drafting and interpreting client contracts that are protective of the company’s interests.
Actively supports staff with drafting and negotiating subcontracts to ensure the contractual terms are in the best interest of the company.
Assists the Legal Team in providing day-to-day legal counsel and advice to corporate departments and staff to ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies and guidelines.
Assists the General Counsel in keeping standard contracts current with the trends of the industry and drafting additional standard contracts as required.
Assists the General Counsel by identifying and analyzing new and proposed legislation and regulations, and corporate legal obligations and rights, to protect the company.
Works with the General Counsel on resolving legal disputes and claims, which may involve working with outside counsel or appearing in court or mediation to pursue, defend and/or settle legal claims.
In order to proactively mitigate the company’s risk, assist the General Counsel with contracts negotiation and risk management training including drafting relevant contract and risk management processes and policies.
Implements and maintains the company’s standard Subcontracting Process, including communication, training, and procedures and tools Implements and maintains the company’s standard Subcontracting Process, including communication, training, and procedures and tools.
Assists the Deputy General Counsel in timely responding to subpoenas received by the company.
Engages in company’s monthly Health & Safety meetings.
Leads internal training on subcontracts, the use of standard subcontract templates.
Actively involved in client contract negotiations.
Responds to staff requests for legal assistance with contract reviews within forty-eight hours.
Assists the General Counsel in drafting and reviewing relevant company processes and policies.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree, juris doctor; licensed to practice law.
Licensed attorney with 2-5 years experience, preferably in engineering/related service industry.
knowledgeable with contract and subcontract review, drafting, and negotiating terms with clients.
Experience in responding to subpoenas a plus.

The salary range for this position in Seattle, WA is $135,000 - $155,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market. This role is eligible to participate in the company’s discretionary bonus program. This role may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus.
