Position Overview:
Boeing is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in Albuquerque, NM supporting advanced concepts development with requirements definition, trade studies, analyses, configuration management, and data and documentation management. The position will be working with and supporting extremely talented senior systems and specialty engineers developing state-of-the art optical systems to demonstrate advanced concepts. These positions will work both at our Albuquerque LEOS site and on Kirtland AFB as required to support program scope.
Position Responsibilities:
Supports systems and multi-disciplined engineers in defining requirements, developing trade studies, performing analyses, and controlling associated data and information.
Gathers, tracks and analyzes reliability, maintainability, and availability data.
Works with engineering teams on failure reporting and root cause analyses.
Works with Senior Systems Engineers to define Interface Control Documents (ICDs), develop and track verification documentation of subsystems and components, and performing configuration management activities.
Works on crew to test and validate designs of complex systems. Occasional night work is required.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM.
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). A final U.S. Top Secret clearance is required post-hire.
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years experience in understanding, and knowledge of, engineering data (e.g. blueprints, data sets, change orders, specifications, logic diagrams, etc.) to interpret, analyze, identify gaps and develop data for support requirements
K nowledge of tasking performed throughout engineering development lifecycle (requirements, design, software, test & integration)
3+ years experience with requirements development, verification, validation, ICDs, risk, issues and opportunities management and/or trade studies
E xperience with MATLAB for data analysis and/or modeling and simulation
Typical Education & Experience: (Experienced - Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
(Senior - Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
(Lead - Level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
