RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer in Westlake, TX.

Summary:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for design, engineering, and implementation of the datacenter and co-location core network routing and switching with a focus on stability, automation, and innovation. The candidate will deploy and operate the VXLAN overlay and underlay network environments traversing multiple platforms, supporting Enterprise Infrastructure teams on projects including engineering and implementing new and upgrading existing network hardware, code c certification as well as keeping the network secure through tactical change management.

Duties:

• Implement code upgrade/hot fixes from vendors


• Provide technical support and assistance during on-call period and for impacting issues

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experienced in engineering and deploying large scale enterprise infrastructure technologies for compute infrastructure connectivity over EVPN-VXLAN overlay networks


• Expert knowledge configuring and supporting HPE and Cisco networking platforms


• Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, VRF


• Switched Protocols: PVST, RPVST, HSRP/VRRP


• Monitoring Protocols: SNMP, Syslog, Telemetry


• Datacenter design and support experience


• Overlay technologies - VXLAN


• EVPN-BGP


• Experience with EVPN-VXLAN configuration


• Documentation of sophisticated technologies and topologies using Visio


• Knowledge of common network services (DNS/DHCP/HTTP/SSH)


• Infrastructure automation experience and familiarity of scripting languages (bash/python/ansible) and interacting with Rest APIs


• Familiarity with network observability and monitoring systems

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
