Job Responsibilities

• Learn HdL web applications and basic Texas sales tax rules
  • Complete introductory training to HdL web applications
  • Continuously develop Texas sales tax knowledge
• Complete monthly Sales Tax data traps following HdL procedures
  • Review sales tax permit and reporting data
  • Follow procedures to determine appropriate action
  • Create leads if correction action may be required
• Complete new lead form using HdL applications
  • Input required taxpayer information
  • Document process that generated lead
  • Assign appropriate statuses for follow up
• Complete additional sales tax research projects as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• Comfortable using basic computer applications (Microsoft Office 365 & web apps)
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Strong critical and lateral thinking skills
• Task management and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks from inception to completion
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to solve ambiguous, unstructured problems
• Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, GIS, and research techniques
• Previous experience working in a small team environment
• Experience working with numbers and multiple sources of data

Education and Experience

• High school Diploma
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

Compensation

The starting base salary for this Austin, TX position is expected to be between $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
